The Darvish has expanded their creative reach in Berlin beyond performances & event production and into theatrical collaboration. Starting their career in contemporary theater with the piece Come As You Are #2 2020, They are known for playing the role of "Phoenix from a Strange World.” in the Opera adaptation of New Songs from Earth 2022 at Neukölln Opera, in addition to co-choreographing and playing parts in pieces like We <3 to Raqs, RE:PLAY, AND THE BRIDE in 2023, In 2024 The Darvish has created two solo pieces Titled MAKAN/مَكَانْ and MYTH-GENDERED bringing both their Syrian heritage and their commitment to queer expression. Recently Premiering a piece Titled Ha`Ke`ZaaKata in collaboration with Award winning jewish writer, Allex Fassberg. They have established themselves as a cultural curator through these productions, offering immersive and politically charged artistic experiences that are central to Berlin’s queer and multicultural community.

Their work often blurs boundaries between traditional performance and experimental theater, exploring complex themes of identity, migration, and the intersection of heritages with queer identity, The Darvish brings a dynamic approach to the stage, informed by their background in dance and community-centered events like Queens Against Borders, which uses theater and performance as a medium, providing platforms for refugee voices and LGBTQIA+ narratives, QAB, is a showcase spotlighting refugee and migrant artists from various cultural and artistic backgrounds, merging dance, drag, and storytelling. In doing so, The Darvish uses these events to address issues of cultural identity and displacement, making art a medium for both celebration and activism. YaLLA HAFLA
Yalla Hafla is a vibrant and inclusive show in Berlin created by the dynamic duo, Judy LaDivina and The Darvish. Originating from Israel and Syria respectively, these queer icons met in 2016 and embarked on a creative partnership. The show, meaning 'let's party' in Arabic, is a unique blend of drag, lip-sync, and belly dance, celebrating cultural diversity and coexistence. Yalla Hafla offers an authentic queer party experience where audiences are transported across borders through performances in up to 47 different languages.
